Cascadia Conservation District
Serving Chelan County

Show Your Commitment to Conservation

Join Our Board of Supervisors...

The Cascadia Conservation District is self-governed by a Board of Supervisors who work to establish priorities, set policy and direct the work of District staff.

Registered voters residing within Chelan County who are interested in guiding Cascadia's conservation efforts are encouraged to run for office. Board members are unpaid volunteer public officials who serve a three-year term and must be available to attend monthly meetings.

Hal Hawley has announced his retirement from the Board of Supervisors.  The May meeting will be his last with the District.  The Board invites applicants to fill the remainder of his unexpired term.  To continue in the position, the new member will need to run for election in early 2021.

If you are interested in serving on the Board and have questions, please contact a current Board member or the District office, or attend the April 19 Board Meeting.  The deadline is May 9, 2018.  Submit this form to verify that you are a registered voter living in Chelan County, and therefore eligible to hold the position.  You do not need to choose a type of candidacy.

At least three of the five members must be landowners or operators of a farm.  At this time, that requirement is met with the other members.  However, if the makeup of the Board changes in the intervening time, the member appointed to this position may need to be a landowner or operator of a farm by the filing date in late 2020 in order to run for election.

To apply for an Appointed Supervisor position, visit the Washington Conservation Commission web site to read about the process here:  or go directly to the online form here: and submit your application.  The next application period will be in March 2018 for appointment at the May meeting of the Conservation Commission.  Contact us if you need assistance.

...and Don't Forget to Vote!

If you don't have the time to serve on the Board, then make your voice heard by voting for your favorite candidate.  Registered voters residing within Chelan County are eligible to vote.  The poll site election will be held during the annual Fruit Days conference on January 17, 2018 in the Wenatchee Convention Center lobby from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm.  You may also request an absentee ballot to deliver or mail in on or before election day.  Absentee ballot requests must be made by 5:00 pm on December 15, 2017.
