Cascadia Conservation District
Serving Chelan County

"Wildfire is a fact of life in North Central Washington.
Ultimately, it is not a matter of if a wildfire will occur, but when."

Wildfire Preparedness

Are You Firewise?

As residents of a fire-prone area it is important that we acknowledge the dangers that exist around us and take the appropriate actions to protect ourselves and our communities BEFORE a wildfire starts.

In an effort to help Chelan County residents prepare for wildfires, the Cascadia Conservation District has taken a lead role in the development of both individual community and county-wide wildfire protection plans. As funding permits, we also offer free wild fire risk assessments to interested landowners, participate in wildfire education & outreach efforts, and provide support to neighborhoods seeking Firewise Communities/USA recognition.
