Beaver Dam Analogs (BDAs) and Post Assisted Log Structures (PALS)

BDAs are structures that mimic beaver dams. BDAs hold back water on the landscape later in the season, which disperses flows onto the floodplain, and recharges groundwater supply.

BDAs and PALS also provide important habitat for salmon and other wildlife. Creating greater complexity in the channel to encourage habitat diversity.

Program Breakdown:

Cascadia Conservation District programs and projects are largely grant funded. This provides Staff and landowners opportunities and flexibility according to the need. Please contact us if interested about seeing how our programs might benefit you and your community!

Beaver-Powered Restoration Presentation

Michael Dello Russo of Trout Unlimited and Alex Harwell of Cascadia Conservation District will team up to tell us about the Wenatchee-Entiat Beaver Project! The Project provides education and outreach to manage human-beaver conflicts, relocates beavers, and constructs beaver dam analogs to restore aquatic and riparian environments in Central Washington.
